I am a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist with a busy practice. I work from premises in Stafford and also online. I see clients from all over the world and love being able to help people. In 2015, along with a colleague, we decided open a hypnotherapy training school in Leeds. This school became CPHT Leeds and opened its doors to the first students in 2016. Since then, the school has gone from strength to strength. Now in its sixth successful year, we are able to use all our previous hypnotherapy & training knowledge to support our students.

So, what was my career background prior to becoming a hypnotherapist? Well, for over 25 years, I worked in a publishing environment within a sales and marketing focus. Initially as a salesperson, then as sales manager and trainer. I loved my time as a trainer and manager. It allowed me to hone my coaching and motivational skills. Ultimately, I took on the role of operations manager.  This allowed me to use my knowledge to grow and develop the company I worked for. This same knowledge would go on to help me grow my own hypnotherapy business. The marketing element of my experience has also been extremely valuable with CPHT Leeds.  Sharing it helps students on the course understand how best to promote their businesses once they graduate.

In 2003, I trained as an NLP Practitioner with one of the founders of NLP, Richard Bandler. During the same year, I went on to qualify as a Licensed Training Specialist of NLP. I soon included these new skills in my training and coaching sessions. I quickly realised that NLP alone was not enough to create the many changes people desired. This sparked an interest in hypnotherapy and the changes it can help people with.

I decided to find a hypnotherapy school which suited my logical and positive nature. I was thrilled to be accepted to train with Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training (CPHT). CPHT offers delegates the opportunity to qualify for the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) as well as the Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD).  This is classed by many to be the “gold standard” in Hypnotherapy training. I found that the course was ideal for me as I was planning to change career. It certainly gave me the skills and confidence to start practicing as a hypnotherapist straight away.

Once I’d built up a busy hypnotherapy practice, I decided to train as a Hypnotherapy Supervisor SFH Sup (Hyp). This way I could use my skills and knowledge to help other hypnotherapists. I loved the fact that CPHT allowed me to progress my career in this way. Not long afterwards, I helped to launch CPHT Leeds. It was important to me that I was as well qualified as it was possible to be to run the school. So, in 2018, I completed the Advanced Hypnotherapy Diploma (AHD). This course has been assessed at a level 5 by NCFE. Right now, this is the highest level of qualification available for solution focused hypnotherapists.  As you can see, I am committed to continually improving my skills & knowledge. I have attended many such development courses to date.

I now live in Staffordshire and enjoy spending time with my cat, Oscar, my four children and their families. I am an avid reader and love passing on what I’ve learnt to others. I have a busy, full time hypnotherapy & psychotherapy practice. I maintain around 25 ‘live’ clients on my books at any time.  I see people online from as far away as Vietnam and more locally at my clinic in Stafford, Staffordshire.

I love being part of the CPHT Hypnotherapy Training Team.  In 2019 I helped to launch the CPHT Liverpool school. This school is now in its third successful year. In September 2021 I will be helping to launch CPHT Stoke.  However, I continue to enjoy helping the Leeds students to develop into confident, successful hypnotherapists. I will always be grateful to CPHT. It has given me the life that I have always dreamed about. A life that allows me to help others while giving me time to spend with my family. I am excited about being able to offer others this same opportunity.   I am passionate about enabling people to achieve their goals.

I have had a varied career over the years ranging from Casino Manager abroad to an HR Coordinator in the UK. The common denominator for the roles I have held is that training and development have always played a part.
In Greece I was part of a team that trained over 800 people to become Croupiers, what an amazing experience that was. This was my first experience in training and development, and I loved it!

After 12 years my husband and 8 year old child returned to the UK and I settled into an admin role at Marks and Spencer. I quickly moved over to the HR department when a Recruitment Coordinator role became available. This was really interesting, I loved interviewing and coordinating the work experience programs.
Before long an opportunity arose at the M&S new centralised HR centre at Salford Quays and I jumped at the opportunity to expand my HR / Training & Development skills. Within 18 months I was a Team Leader having responsibility for the management and development of our team!

After 3 years at head office, I secured a Finance role closer to home to support our daughter while she studied. Life was busy and stressful. I thrived on fast paced, challenging projects at work and juggled a busy home life with my family. I hadn’t realised that anxiety was slowly creeping up in the background of my life until I had an anxiety attack. Researching the subject of anxiety led me to discover Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. I immediately knew I wanted to train to be a Hypnotherapist and started enquiring about training schools.

I wanted a school that would give me a full package; the best training, experienced tutors, marketing and business advice, practical and theoretical training, I wanted to understand why hypnotherapy worked – what was happening in the brain? How did mental health conditions manifest and how was I going to use hypnotherapy to help clients? I also needed it to fit around my full-time work and family – it seemed like a big ask but CPHT Leeds ticked all the boxes; I was very excited!

Training at CPHT Leeds was so much fun and truly enlightening. How amazing to help other people overcome mental health conditions like anxiety, depression or low self-esteem and run a business from home choosing my own hours. The added bonus of training with CPHT was that once you qualified you still had ongoing support with your Supervisor and access to continued professional development (CPD). I love attending supervision group sessions, it’s great to see my colleagues, swap tips, get support and catch-up. CPHT also provides a very comprehensive timetable of CPD’s which are constantly being added to and updated. (This is great should you want to specialise in one area).

After practising for 2 years, I was invited to become a senior lecturer for CPHT Leeds and I jumped at the chance. That was 12 months ago and training others to fulfil their dreams of becoming a hypnotherapist has been one of the most fun and rewarding opportunities I have had. Watching our graduates leave as confident Hypnotherapists with the knowledge and experience to begin their practices, is completely exciting and rewarding. I am so looking forward to begin our training at CPHT Stoke in the coming months.

My busy practice in Bolton has become a part of the community and I have won several awards including Mental Health Coach/Mentor at the Bolton Health and Wellbeing awards and Top 3 Hypnotherapy practice in Bolton, 2 years running. I have also been lucky enough to be interviewed on local radio.

I currently balance my Hypnotherapy practice with Lecturing and Supervision duties, supporting our graduates as they move forward in their new careers. I live in Bolton with my husband and daughter and enjoy socialising with family and friends, long walks with my miniature schnauzer, Princess Lola, and gym classes.

There are no words for how rewarding being a hypnotherapist is, watching clients literally turning their lives around, overcoming mental health conditions and helping them to be the person they recognise again. I am completely passionate and enthusiastic about Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and love sharing that enthusiasm with our students.
