AHD, DSFH, HPD, SFH Sup(Hyp), MNCH(Acc), MAfSFH, NLP and licensed trainer of NLP

I worked in a publishing environment within a sales and marketing context for over 25 years. Initially as a sales person, then as sales manager and trainer. I loved my time as a trainer and manager. It allowed me to hone my coaching and motivational skills. Ultimately I took on the role of operations manager.  This allowed me to use my knowledge to grow and develop the company I worked for. This same knowledge would go on to help in my hypnotherapy business. The marketing element of my past experience is extremely valuable in helping students on the course to understand how best to promote their businesses once they graduate.

In 2003, I decided to train in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) with one of the founders of NLP, Richard Bandler. During the same year, I went on to qualify as a Licensed Training Specialist of NLP. I soon included these new skills in my training and coaching sessions. I quickly realised that NLP alone was not enough to create the many changes people desired. I believed that people needed more support to bring about these changes, so I decided to train as a hypnotherapist.

i wanted to find a hypnotherapy school which suited my logical and positive nature. I was thrilled to be accepted to train with Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training(CPHT). CPHT offers delegates the opportunity to qualify for the the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DfSFH) as well as the Hypnotherapy in Practitice Diploma (HPD).  This is classed by many to be the “gold standard” in Hypnotherapy training. I found that this course was ideal for people planning to change career. It certainly gave me the skills and confidence to start practicing as a hypnotherapist straight away.

I am now a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist (HPD & DfSFH) and Hypnotherapy Supervisor SFH Sup(Hyp). More recently, during the Summer of 2018 I completed the Advanced Hypnotherapy Diploma(AHD). This course has been assessed at a level 5 by NCFE. Right now, this is the highest level of qualification available for solution focused hypnotherapists. It is only available to qualified hypnotherapists through CPHT . I am committed to continually improving my skills & knowledge. I have attended many such development courses to date.

I now live in Staffordshire and enjoy spending time with my kitten, Oscar and my four children and their families. I am an avid reader and love passing on what I’ve learnt to others. I have a busy, full time hypnotherapy & psychotherapy practice. I maintain around 25 ‘live’ clients on my books at any time.  I see people online from as far away as Vietnam and more locally at my clinic in Stafford, Staffordshire.

I helped to launch the CPHT Leeds Hypnotherapy Training school in 2016 and after five succesful years I still love being part of the CPHT Leeds Hypnotherapy Training Team.  In 2019 I helped to launch the CPHT Liverpool school, now in its second succesful year. In March 2021 I will be helping to launch CPHT Stoke.  However, I continue to enjoy helping the people of Leeds develop into confident, successful hypnotherapists. I will always be grateful to CPHT. It has given me the life that I have always dreamed about. A life that allows me to help others while giving me time to spend with my family. I am excited about being able to offer others this same opportunity.   I am passionate about enabling people to achieve their goals.

MNCH (Reg.), HPD

I started my working life in the Casino Industry. A career that would span 26 years. My training began in London and over the next few years, I took the opportunity to travel around the world within my role, eventually meeting my husband in the Bahamas. In 1996 we moved to Greece. As supervisors in the largest Casino in Europe, we were part of a team that trained and developed over 800 local residents to become Croupiers. This was my first experience in training and developing and I quickly realised it was something I loved to do.

We moved back to the UK in 2008 and I went to work at Marks and Spencer in an Admin role. I eventually moved into the HR department as a Recruitment Coordinator with duties that included interviewing new candidates, managing the Youth Work Experience programme and coordinating the Induction sessions.
After a couple of years, opportunities arose at the M&S new centralised HR Contact centre in Salford Quays and I jumped at the opportunity to develop my HR / Training & Development skills.  Within 18 months I was a Team Leader managing and developing 18 people! This was an exciting period for M&S, we were rolling out a new HR system to 350 stores nationwide, and it was our team that was responsible for ensuring a smooth roll-out. It was challenging and fast paced, and I absolutely loved it!

After 3 years at head office, I secured a job closer to home to support our daughter while she studied. Life was busy and stressful. I thrived on fast paced, challenging projects at work and juggled a busy home life with my family. I hadn’t realised that anxiety was slowly creeping up in the background of my life until I had an anxiety attack. Fortunately, I had a very understanding GP who told me to google Mindfulness and after lots of research, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy came into my life – I have never looked back!!

Training at CPHT Leeds was so much fun and truly enlightening. How amazing to help other people be the best they could be and run a business from home choosing my own hours.
I am immensely proud to say that I am a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist (HPD). My busy practice in Bolton has become a part of the community and last year my hard work was recognised when Havisham Hypnotherapy won the award for Mental Health Coach/Mentor at the Bolton Health and Wellbeing awards. It was an amazing opportunity to raise the profile of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.

Since I graduated, I have been committed to developing my skills and knowledge within SFH and regularly attend CPD’s online and in Manchester.
I see clients 4 days a week and currently have 30 live clients on my books as well as running my Quiet Mind deep relaxation group sessions locally. This leaves me with lots of time to spend with my family, attend my yoga classes and enjoy long walks with my Miniature Schnauzer, Lola.

There are no words for how rewarding being a hypnotherapist is – watching clients literally turning their lives around, overcoming obstacles and helping them to be the person they recognise again – I am passionate and completely enthusiastic about Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.”
